Maine State Project
On Tuesday July 15, the AMP team arrived in Scarborough, Maine
to work on the Maine State Project. Ellen instructed the team to go
out the following day and hunt for Maine mementos. After a full
day of searching the Portland/Scarborough area, the treasures were
brought to the home of board member Peter Philip and his wife Tory.
The pile of Maine “stuff” included shells and rocks from the many
area beaches, rubbings of the streets of Portland, tangled fishing nets,
smelly bait bags, lobster traps, buoys, even a big piece of driftwood.
On Thursday morning everyone, incuding the Sea Fleas and Periwinkles
from a local summer camp, assembled to put this section of the
Mural together.
Thanks so much to the Philips and the Whitmans for hosting this fun project.
